Etude House Dupe for Urban Decay 69
Ladies and Jellyspoons
Today I thought I'd share a recent dupe that I have found in my collection. For the last 4 years of my love affair with cosmetics, I didn't have easy access to Urban Decay cosmetics. It wasn't available in South Korea and it's still not available in South Africa. My only option was to order products through a friend in the States and have her ship it to me. I was very happy to receive a sample size of their raved about 69 lipstick when I purchased one of their palettes, but I've been so careful about using it sparingly because I knew once it ran out, that was that. Although Urban Decay has finally come to South Korea this year (to my absolute delight), I am also happy to say I have found something that is so similar to 69, that I can now save my sample for even longer.
If you've read some of my previous dupe reviews (MAC Russian Red dupe review, OCC Radiate dupe review or MAC House Wine dupe review) you'll know that I am a very big fan of Etude House cosmetics. They are a Korean cosmetics brand that is famous for the most beautiful packaging and for quality that compares to high end products at drugstore prices. Today I will be comparing Urban Decay 69 with Etude House Dear My Wish Lips Talk RD301 Devious Red. (It's a mouth full alright, but it’s important to note the 'wish', because they have many 'Dear My' lines). I own the entire collection of the Dear My Wish Lips Talk line, so I can vouch for the line as a whole.
In the tube Devious Red looks a tad more red as compared to the more pinky tint of 69, but applied they look identical.
Here are the swatches on my hand (Urban Decay 69 at the top. Etude House Devious Red at the bottom.)
And here are the lip swatches:

I usually give a 4 out of 5 for the dupes I find, but this one is so similar (almost exact), that I'd be willing to give it a 4.5 ~ 5 out of 5.
I'll be sure to compare more of Urban Decay lipsticks in the future, now that I have access to them.
Lots of love
