OCC Stalker Lip Tar Etude House Dupe Review
Hi Ladies and Jellyspoons
Today I will be sharing an OCC Lip Tar dupe with you and, again, it's one of the Etude House Color In Liquid Lips (liquid lipstick line). If you've ever been exposed to the makeup community on YouTube, you probably have heard of the much raved about OCC Lip tars. Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics was the first brand to bring out liquid lipsticks that go on wet but dry matte. Ever since, every makeup brand and their mothers came out with similar products, but OCC was the innovator. Not only were theirs the first on the market, but they are still the only ones that are completely chemical free, cruelty free, and vegan.
The two beautiful red lipsticks that I/m comparing today are OCC Stalker Lip Tar and Etude House Color In Liquid Lip in RD301 (I'm in Love).
As you can see, stalker comes in a basic little squeeze tube and requires a lip brush for application, whereas Etude House RD301 comes in a lipstick shaped container with an applicator. Don't despair! OCC has very recently redone their packaging, so these amazing Lip tars now also come with a doe foot applicator.
Here are the swatches on my hand: Etude House RD301 (I'm in Love) on top, OCC Stalker on bottom.
And here are the lip swatches:

As you can see, Etude House RD301 I'm in Love is slightly more warm toned or orangey than OCC Stalker. One really just needs a tiny dollop with either of these products to have them last for hours. For a darker shade, a second coat could be applied, but it will be more likely to transfer or smudge. As you can also see, these products tend to feather or bleed, so be sure to apply a primer. I would suggest OCC Clear Lip Tar. And, since it dries matte, always use a good lip scrub before application as it will emphasise any piece of chapped skin, crack or crease. I would suggest any lip scrub by LUSH.
Because of the slight difference in colour, I'd give the Etude house dupe 4 stars out of 5 in similarity to OCC Stalker. Though with regards to quality and longevity, they are the same.
Lots of love
