Hello!

Today I thought it would be a great idea to share a few of my all time favourite makeup products. These products are all in hues of red and pink, and thrown together will make for a perfect Valentine's look. These products are versatile enough to match any skintone and eye colour.

I'm going to start off by talking about my absolute favourite MAC eye shadow, and also the first eye shadow I've ever hit pan on. Mac Cranberry is described as a Red-Plum with pink shimmer and it is in a Frost finish. I usually apply it with a 217 brush to the crease, with Mac Girlie on the lid. For a more dramatic smokey eye, I apply Cranberry to the inner half of the lid with a 239 brush, with Mac Satin Tuape on the outside half of the lid, with a brow bone highlight that matches my skintone.

For blusher I've really been loving the Etude House Lovely Cookie Blushers. They come in 15 shades, and one of the best selling ones is Sweetberry Muffin (#9).

It's a pale Barbie pink in a matte finish with a slight peachy undertone and very minimal amounts of shimmer. I particularly love how it gives me just the right amount of healthy colour, to not look unnatural. The whole collection of these Blushers are known for providing the quality, long wear and satisfaction of a high end blush, for a low end price.

I always advocate that one should wear a lip liner to match a very dark or very bright lip colour, to avoid smudging and bleeding. My favourite go to lip liner to match any pinup red lippie, will always be Mac Cherry lip pencil. I carefully line the edges of my lips, being especially careful to get a symmetrical Cupid's bow. Then I go ahead and colour in the rest of my lips as well. That will make a good foundation on which to apply your lipstick.

I then apply one of my favourite red lipsticks that isn't as drying as a matte but at the same time not as smooth and creamy as a creamsheen, whilst being long lasting. Innisfree Creammellow Lipsticks are the perfect finish for winter, and the perfect red we need for this look is #8 Glossy Red.

A Valentine's look can't be complete without the perfect selfie friendly foundation. We need a powder foundation that will leave your skin looking airbrushed and matte. Any amount of shine will reflect light from your face and that's all you need to ruin a great photograph. If you (like me) don't like powder foundations at all, don't dispair. Mac Studio Fix Fluid goes on wet and dries to a powder finish. Apply it with a makeup sponge or Beauty Blender. It comes in every skintone imaginable, and one bottle will last you a good 3-6 months.

To round off your perfect Valentine's Day look, don't forget the red nails. My favourite is OPI 'I'm not really a waitress.' Its excellent staying power and buildable colour makes it perfect for a night out with your Mister Right.

Don't forget to apply a spurt or two of your favourite perfume, and go win his heart this year!

Lots of love

Amanda
