MAC Viva Glam I Lipstick Dupe Review

May 12, 2018 Amanda Koker Dupe Reviews 0

Today I have another MAC vs Etude House dupe for you all. I recently purchased the MAC Viva Glam lipstick in shade Viva Glam I, a lipstick that has been on my wishlist for a while now. It is a matte lipstick with a unique shade of red. As some of you may know, I have a small obsession with matte lipsticks and have been on the hunt to get all of them. I also have a soft spot for any red shades, especially vampy oxblood reds.

Not long after I bought the MAC Viva Glam lipstick, Etude House revamped their Dear My Blooming Lips line with new packaging, arranged by the finish. There were so many matte shades I didn’t own, so I decided to get a few to add to my collection. One of them is this lovely oxblood red called Scary Red ( RD 306 겁먹은 레드). I decided to swatch Etude House Scary Red with MAC Viva Glam and found they are pretty similar!

Here is what the packaging looks like.

Although Etude House Scary Red looks more brown in the packaging, the MAC Viva Glam I looks more brown on the lips.

Here they are swatched:

On my lips:

As you can see they are very similar. I'm surprised as I thought I would not find anything similar to MAC Viva Glam I, since it is a very unique colour. Etude House Scary Red is just a little more orange, whereas Viva Glam I is a bit more red, but overall it's hardly discernible. Many of you already know the about the iconic vanilla scent of Mac lipsticks - Well Etude House also also has quite a distinctive scent, but for every colour range it’s different. The pinks smell like rose turkish delights where the oranges smell citrusy. Scary Red falls under the orange tones so it comes with a lovely citrus smell, which isn’t too overwhelming for me.

I’d give Etude House Scary Red a 4.8 out of 5 in similarity to MAC Viva Glam I lipstick.

There you go have it. I hope you have enjoyed this review.

Lots of love
Amanda
